Harvest Celebrations 2009
Harvest Celebrations held on the 3rd and 4th October 2009.
On the 3rd and 4th October 2009, Almondbury Methodist Church had
a great Harvest Weekend celebration.
In preparation for the weekend a number of groups and organisations
in the Almondbury community came together and each created a small
garden inside the chapel. These gardens were then open for viewing
throughout the weekend.
See The
Glory of The Garden PDF for further details.
On the Saturday 3rd October, we held a Grand Harvest Coffee morning.
Lots of stalls and exhibitions from the 'Be Creative' classes, cakes,
home made harvest produce and plenty of fun, with an opportunity
to view the superb Garden Festival inside the chapel. See below
for pictures of some of these small gardens.
On Saturday 3rd October, from 7pm to 10pm, Harvest Ceilidh - A night
of fun was had with dancing and entertainment, with music provided
by the McAlpine Fusiliers! Along with the ceilidh, a pea and pie
supper was provided.
On Sunday 4th October 10.30am, the Harvest weekend closed with a
Harvest Service Celebration. A specially themed service celebration
set amongst the beautiful garden surroundings in the chapel.
